BACKGROUND

About NCfD

The Nigeria Clusters for Development (NCfD) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to advancing governance innovation, policy entrepreneurship, and cluster-based development across Nigeria.

At NCfD, we leverage a collaborative, multi-stakeholder approach that brings together industry, academia, government, and civil society to drive regional competitiveness and foster social cohesion. Through rigorous research, policy dialogue, and practical collaboration, we aim to shape both policy and practice in ways that unlock Nigeria’s full economic potential for shared prosperity.

To harness the power of the innovation economy, Nigeria needs a governance framework that can explain and address the differential economic performance of its 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. By identifying and promoting the key institutional levers of regional competitiveness, NCfD seeks to support an economic governance model that is adaptive, inclusive, and innovation-driven.

Achieving this goal requires a deep, sector-wide exploration of Nigeria’s policy landscape to identify incremental, scalable, and sustainable policy innovation opportunities — especially across its 774 local government areas.

This is the core mandate of NCfD. To reimagine economic governance in Nigeria through innovation. NCfD will help to catalyze economic transformation and policy leadership from the bottom up through its three core themes: governance innovation, policy entrepreneurship, and cluster-based development.

NCfD is a non-profit, non-partisan organization registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria.
